National Center for Advocacy and Recovery for Behavioral Health, Inc. will help lead efforts to ensure the establishment of an integrated recovery-oriented system of care that provides needed evidence-based behavioral health prevention and recovery services to its residents as a human right.

Policy Analyst

The Policy Analyst represents NCAAR-BH and its positions to policy makers, the press and public. The Policy Analyst assists Public Affairs and Policy Unit staff in producing documents, publications, flyers, blogs, press releases, grant applications, etc. The Policy Analyst produces reports analyzing state and federal policies and research; regular reports on the status of pertinent state and federal legislation; as well as, reports on positions taken on legislation by the agency and other publications related to addiction and recovery policy as required. The Policy Analyst participates in working coalitions in which the agency is a member organization, monitors Governor’s activities, announcements, Executive Orders, rule making, bill signings, and produces occasional budget and other legislative testimony. This position reports directly to NCAAR-BH President/CEO, Board of Directors, and funders.

Bachelor’s degree, experience in the legislative or administrative branch of government. At least one year’s experience in analytical or critical writing or related writing experience.

Behavioral Health Care Coordinators-Gloucester/Salem, Cumberland, Camden, Union, Essex, Bergen, Hudson, Sussex, Middlesex and Mercer Counties

The Care Coordinator conducts comprehensive substance use and mental health disorder assessments, makes treatment referrals, and provides intensive clinical case management services.

A Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, social work, or related field plus CADC is required. Must have a minimum of three years co-occurring disorder experience and applied knowledge of The ASAM Criteria, 3rd Ed., and the DSM-5.

Or, Master's  Degree in counseling, social work or related field. An LPC, LCADC or LCSW with co-occurring experience strongly preferred or documented evidence that an associate license or full license will be obtained in the next year. Must have a minimum of one year co-occurring disorder experience and applied knowledge of The ASAM Criteria, 3rd Ed., and the DSM-5.

Assistant Care Coordinators-Robbinsville, Cherry Hill, Clifton and Newark

The Assistant Care Coordinator is responsible for processing referrals, arranging assessment schedules, coordinating services and performing administrative tasks. This is a nonclinical position. 

Must possess basic clerical skills and computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and familiarity with the Internet, ability to manage complex schedules, high school diploma or equivalent. Work experience or volunteer service in the addictions field is a plus. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
